Full-size DisplayPort has one chamfered corner and, on most cables, a latch you press to release. Mini DisplayPort, on older Macs, Surface devices and many workstation graphics cards, has two chamfered corners and is electrically the same. Thunderbolt 1 and 2 used the Mini DisplayPort shape too.
Today, DisplayPort increasingly travels over USB-C instead, in DisplayPort Alt Mode or tunnelled through USB4/Thunderbolt.
